Safety and Crime Concerns – Residents Urged to Report.

18 March, 2021

There have been a number of instances discussed on social media regarding anti social behaviour, vandalism, trespassing, etc.
It is clear there are widespread concerns over the reduction of street lighting in the village, which is felt to be a contributing factor to such instances.

The concerns were discussed at February’s Community Council meeting and it was concluded that although these instances are happening regularly, they are not being reported to CCBC or the Police and therefore the official response is there are no crime or safety issues in the village.

The Community Council is urging all residents who have concerns over instances of crime or safety to register these with CCBC and the Police. Although they may not act upon each call, they will be added to the crime statistics for the area, thus highlighting the need for increased street lighting.
